X #11: Penciled pages | X #11: Pranchas a lápis

After a preview of X #11 – Deep Pockets of Pain’s first 6 pages, here are their respective pencils. ‘Hope you like it.

I must point out how amazing Duane Swierczynski’s script is. Not only is his tone pitch perfect for any character, nuanced and beautifully paced, but he’s written what I described as a Die Hard-esque issue, with a climax rotating between two simultaneous scenes: in one, X fights hitman Gamble (re-envisioned by artist Eric Nguyen) on an exploding building rooftop, while in other, sidekick Leigh fights off the tension in a hotel suite, facing Ellie, gangster Carmine Tango’s assistant.

You see why it was a kick to draw, right--? My participation aside, I’m eager to see the fans reaction to this issue (and to #12), because this title just keeps getting better and better.

E tenho de salientar o quão incrível é o texto de Duane Swierczynski. Não só o tom é impecável em cada personagem, bem tratado em ritmo e nuances, como escreveu o que descrevi como uma acção Die Hard-esca, dado o climax revolver entre duas cenas simultâneas; numa X enfrenta o assassino Gamble (re-imaginado pelo artista Eric Nguyen) no topo do edifício flamejante, enquanto noutra, numa situação tensa em suite de hotel, a parceira Leigh lida com Ellie, assistente do gangster Carmine Tango.

Percebe-se porque isto foi entusiasmante de desenhar, certo? Descartando a minha participação, fico ansioso de ver a reacção dos leitores ao número (e ao #12), pois este título vai ficando cada vez melhor.
