O VIII FIBDB fechou portas há duas semanas.
Apesar das dificuldades orçamentais sentidas pela direcção e consequências daí
derivadas ao usual funcionamento do festival, consta que o resultado foi
positivo. Um brinde à organização e a todos os envolvidos por não deixarem cair
um tão querido e necessário evento no panorama do país e, desde já, votos de
boa programação em 2013!
Infelizmente, mercê
de uma série de noitadas para trabalho e estando no pico de uma constipação
(sem esquecer ter tido de fazer uma directa na madrugada anterior!) não estava
nos meus melhores dias no fim-de-semana de abertura, em que lá estive. Todavia,
não quis deixar de guardar algumas memórias do espaço e exposições…
The VIII
Beja’s Comics Festival ended two weeks ago. Amidst the budgetary hardships
felt by the management, it seems it went fairly well, all things considering. A
toast to the organizers and all others involved, for not letting die this dear
and needed event in the country’s comic scene, and best wishes for 2013’s
program! Unfortunately, after a slew of working nights
and being at the peak of a cold (and also not having slept at well in the
previous night!), I was in bad shape when I went there, in the opening
week-end. Still, I managed some shots of the space and exhibits…

“Traços Comuns”, do coleccionador e
crítico Domingos Isabelino, com pranchas, pinturas e esboços de vários autores
renomados.

Para
mim, esta próxima foi a mais conseguida expo deste ano, figurando o percurso
autoral do amigo e ex-colega Eliseu “Zeu”
Gouveia, repleta de pranchas que me levaram aos tempos do Fantasia Estúdio,
e novas BDs, das suas edições no mercado EUA.
For me, this next one was the this year’s
best exhibit, featuring the works of my friend and ex-colleague Eliseu “Zeu” Gouveia, filled with
artboards that sent me back to the time of our Fantasia Studios, and newer
pages, from his USA market editions.

ainda, as exposições dedicadas ao autor/editor Pepedelrey (Go Pepe!) e ao argumentista André Oliveira, do projecto Zona, que marcou a diferença no
festival e nos deu um vislumbre ao processo criativo, expondo os guiões junto
com os trabalhos.

his creative process, showcasing his scripts next to the resulting artworks.
